Retail Excellence Ireland has joined Ecommerce Europe, the European umbrella organisation for online retailing. The Irish branch organisation which represents more than a thousand businesses, called it an important step: “Working together with leading branch organisations all across Europe will enable us to expand our knowledge of important market trends and increase our influence on developments in legislation.”
François Momboisse, President of the Board of Directors of Ecommerce Europe, is extremely pleased about Retail Excellence Ireland becoming a member. “As more countries join us, the louder the voice we can raise in Europe.”
Retail Excellence Ireland
With approximately 1,050 members, Retail Excellence Ireland represents more than 11,000 retail establishments, making it by far the largest Irish branch organisation for retailers. The organisation was established in 1995 and last year it created the E-tailing Group for businesses that (also) focuses on e-commerce. This E-tailing Group wants to increase knowledge of trends and developments in e-commerce and to help members profit optimally from the Irish B2C e-commerce market. The group allows ‘e-tailers’ to meet one another in order to discuss their experiences. It also provides access to online expertise and promotes the interests of online businesses. Its chairman is Geoff Scully, Commercial Director of Littlewoods Ireland, the online department store.
