Unemployment slightly decreasing in Greece

Shares

As a result of the economic crisis, the labor force declined over the years. The labor force in Greece reached 4.9 million people by the end of 2013. With the economy growing below potential, the labor market is expected to remain weak. For 2014, a slight decrease is expected with a forecast unemployment rate of 25.7% compared to 27% in 2013. Unfortunately for Greece, this is still more than twice the EU28 average of 10.5%.

Besides the unemployment, the inflation in Greece is still a fact. Last year, the trend of a declining inflation continued, as it reached 0.8%. For 2014, the inflation rate is expected to drop a little further, to 0.4%.
