According to recent research by East-West digital news, PWC and the Moscow Higher School of Economics, the e-commerce sector in Russia lacks qualified human resources with this factor continuing to have a negative impact on the development of online retail.

In 2011, Russian e-commerce sales reached $10.5 billion and it is estimated by PWC that it will reach $50 billion before the end of the decade.
