Romanian GDP expected to keep growing

Shares

Last year, the Romanian GDP increased and for 2014, this number is expected to keep on rising. However, the negative trend with regard to the growth rate, which started in 2011, continued. The growth of the real GDP in Romania decreased from 8.2% three years ago to 4.6% in 2012 and to 2.2% last year. For 2014 a less strong decline is forecast (2.1%).

The share of e-commerce was 0.73% of the Romanian GDP in 2013. The Internet is one of the fastest-growing sectors compared to traditional sectors due to growing confidence and the further penetration of the Internet in Romania. It will be one of the drivers of the economy in the coming years.
