Popular E-commerce Categories and E-tailers in Denmark

With 16% of the online purchases being made in each of these categories, Films, Music, Books, Games and Toys and Clothing. Shoes and Jewelry were the two most popular product groups in Denmark last year. With a market share of 15% in 2013, Travel and Cultural Activities dropped from first place to third. Finally, the Electronics and Appliances categories completed the top 5.

In terms of online retailers, Saxo is the most important company in Denmark, with a market share of 2.2%. It is closely followed by the American e-commerce giant Amazon (2%). The top 5 of online retailers further comprises Elgiganten, Zalando and Cdon.

This is all revealed by the latest report on B2C e-commerce in Northern Europe by Ecommerce Europe. Ecommerce Europe is the European umbrella organization for online retailers. Figures in Ecommerce Europe reports are based on the Global Online Measurement Standard for B2C E-commerce (GOMSEC). Ecommerce Europe also published comprehensive Regional Reports on B2C E-commerce in Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe and Western Europe. All the reports are powered by GfK, GlobalCollect, Informatica, RichRelevance and Salesupply.
