Norwegians are big online spenders

Shares

Last year, Norway ranked first in terms of online spending in Northern Europe. The online spending of Norwegians was higher than the EU28 and European averages in 2013. Behind Norway, Denmark ranked second while Finland was third. Together with the UK and Austria, these countries form the European top 5 in this regard.

Meanwhile Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania considerably lag behind in terms of online expenditure. These countries have under-developed online retail infrastructures, in particular in remote regions. There is a growing demand for better and more direct access to quality goods and fairly priced products. As a result, we see the emergence of online soar in these countries.

This is all revealed by the latest report on B2C e-commerce in Northern Europe by Ecommerce Europe. Ecommerce Europe is the European umbrella organization for online retailers.
