New speakers confirmed for the Global E-commerce Summit!

In a little more than a month, the Global E-Commerce Summit 2017 (GES) will take place! From the 12-14 June, the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos in Barcelona will be the place to be. The Summit provides digital B2C commercial stakeholders a platform to learn about the latest and most impactful disruptions, develop and nurture professional networks and showcase e-commerce ecosystem services. The event – that is hosted by Ecommerce Europe and organized by BBP Media – is taking more and more shape as we are approaching the date.

For the first time in history, Ecommerce Europe is organizing a Policy Arena with no less than four sessions within the program of the GES. The policy sessions will touch upon key areas for the e-commerce sector: consumer policies, VAT, digital currencies and parcel delivery. At this point, we are able to again confirm new speakers for these policy tracks.

Ecommerce Europe is pleased to add the following confirmed speakers to the program of the Global E-Commerce Summit:

Gunnar Adalberth

UPS Director of retail marketing for Europe

Gunnar was born in Stockholm, Sweden, where he also lives. He joined UPS in 1990 as an international marketing analyst at UPS’s former corporate headquarters in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA, until 1993, when he moved to Frankfurt, Germany. Between 2006 and 2009, Gunnar oversaw the management and growth of UPS’ revenues in the Nordic countries in his role of director of sales for Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, and Norway. In 2009, he was promoted to the position of UPS director of business development for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, managing the company’s relationships with all London 2012 sponsors and stakeholders. Gunnar was named director of business development for the UPS Access Point network in 2013 and in 2017 he moved on to become UPS director of retail marketing for Europe, with a particular focus on the B2C and e-commerce sectors.

Luke Lloyd

Manager Market Research, IPC

Luke Lloyd is a Market Research Manager at International Post Corporation (IPC). In his role at IPC, Luke is responsible for the project management of IPC market research initiatives, researching the needs and experiences of consumers and e-retailers, in order to help the postal industry continually improve.  Luke has 12 years of experience within market research, with significant agency-side experience of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. He has a particular focus on conducting multi-country social research projects – with previous clients including the European Commission, the US Department of State, the European Central Bank and the World Bank.

Jasmin Battista

Head of sector in the E-commerce and platforms – DG Connect

Jasmin Battista, of Italian and Austrian origin, is an official of the European Commission.  She is working in the European Institutions since 2002, after 3 years of experience in EU Law firms in Brussels (Coudert Brothers) and London. Before that she has been for 2 years Member of the Cabinet of Vicepresident Ansip, in charge of Digital Single Market and in particular e-commerce and the 5 previous years Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Oettinger in charge of renewable energy. She has been also formerly assistant to the Director General of DG Energy, and legal expert in DG COMPETITION for 5 years (State aid and antitrust). She also worked as Legal Secretary (Référendaire) to the President of the Court of First Instance CFI, Judge Vesterdorf and Judge Enzo Moavero Milanesi at the CFI in Luxembourg between 2005 and 2008.
