Invited by APEK – the Czech association for e-commerce – Luca Cassetti gave a presentation at the E-Business Forum 2017 in Prague on Monday 25 September. The theme of this year’s E-Business Forum was “expansion”, how online shops can enter foreign markets, further grow or change the structure of their companies. Luca Cassetti presented several e-commerce related legislative proposals put forward by the European Commission in the previous months and years, which were announced in the Digital Single Market Strategy. The objective was to inform Czech companies about changes and potential new challenges in their daily business. In order to support and foster the expansion of online businesses across the national borders, Luca Cassetti highlighted that it is fundamental to raise awareness about the importance of completing the Digital Single Market and to promote full harmonization of EU legal frameworks. The more the rules will be aligned and streamlined all over the EU, the more online merchants will start expanding abroad, and also consumers would – at the end – benefit from this harmonized framework.
