Händlerbund organizes Working Group ‘Logistic Natives’ on 20-21 February, Birmingham

Ecommerce Europe’s German national association, Händlerbund, will organize the 6th session of the “Logistic Natives” in Birmingham (UK), on 20-21 February 2017. The event will be co-organized by Bernd Kratz, Chairman of Logistic Natives, César Tello, Chair of Ecommerce Europe’s e-Logistics Working Group, and Atul Bhakta, of OneWorldExpress, which is hosting the event.

During the meeting, European (and national) online retailers, together with leading logistics service providers and leaders of the European e-commerce associations, will discuss the future of European e-commerce and set the course for the cross-border logistics. Where will priorities be set in 2017 and how will the future be shaped?

A short summary of the key issues that will be discussed at the meeting:

i.    Kick-off for the soft launch of the Händlerbund shipment platform
ii.   Cross-border parcel delivery (goods and correspondence): How to continue?

  • a) Interface for cross-border parcels – new technical specification TS17073: first connection of merchandise management system (logistics and transport) by post / CEP system landscapes
  • b)    Electronic Advanced Data (EAD) – data interfaces to customs and VAT systems
  • c)     Inclusion of the wider postal services stakeholder when shaping cross-border parcel delivery

iii.  General changes by decisions of the 41st plenary session of the European post standardization in Warsaw, December 1st and 2nd, 2016 and the appointment of Ecommerce Europe as Chair of the Consultative Committee of the UPU
