The first speakers have been confirmed for the Global E-commerce Summit, which will take place in Barcelona from the 12 to the 14 June 2017. The event is hosted by Ecommerce Europe and organized by BBP Media. The Summit provides digital B2C commercial stakeholders a platform to learn about the latest and most impactful disruptions, develop and nurture professional networks and showcase e-commerce ecosystem services.
This year, Ecommerce Europe is presenting four policy sessions within the Global E-commerce Summit program. These policy tracks will engage with the following key issues facing the e-commerce sector; consumer policies, VAT, digital currencies and parcel delivery. We are already able to confirm some speakers for these policy tracks, as well as a high number of high profile keynote speakers.

Frits van den Bos
Manager for Innovation, GS1 Netherlands
Frits van den Bos (1963) is Manager for Innovation at GS1 Netherlands and co-chair of the global GS1 Omni channel retail interest group. He hosted the Omni channel Supply Chain expert group for the Shopping Tomorrow research program for Thuiswinkel.org in 2013 and is currently hosting a similar group with a focus on the use of data standards in the parcel delivery domain. Within this group retailers, solution providers and other actors in the supply chain discuss the potential of using standards for parcel identification and exchange of data. Frits van den Bos will share with you how standards can accommodate efficient data exchange between supply chain partners and enable the creation of flexible delivery networks.
Frits will join the parcel delivery policy track as a panelist at the Global E-commerce Summit.
Alan is a director at Taxmen.eu, UK company specializing in legal and tax for the digital sector. Alan focuses on VAT, customs matters, Sales Taxes, excise duties on alcohol products, EU packaging tariffs and other important tax matters concerning cross-border e-commerce and digital services, in Europe and globally.
Alan will join the VAT policy track as a panelist at the Global E-commerce Summit.
Senior Policy Advisor, Ecommerce Europe
Dr. Léon Mölenberg started his legal career as lecturer and researcher in the field of consumer and contract law, civil litigation and private international law at the law faculty of Maastricht University from 1987 to 2005. He regularly publishes on consumer law, litigation and package travel. In 1995 he finished a doctoral thesis on the collective court action (class action) for consumer organizations in the field of standard contract terms. Since 2006 he has been senior policy consultant and legal advisor at Thuiswinkel.org (www.thuiswinkel.org), the Dutch Association of Distant Sellers and Service Providers with 2200+ member companies and since 2014, senior policy advisor at Ecommerce Europe. His expertise is on distant selling and ecommerce consumer law, contract terms, ADR, competition and privacy & data protection. He is a member of the working party for privacy issues of VNO-NCW the Dutch federation of Netherlands Industry and Employers. He takes part in the legal committees of both Thuiswinkel.org and Ecommerce Europe, the European association representing 25000+ B2C web traders.
