Germany’s online shoppers have voted: The online store Amazon, the music shop Thomann and the pet shop zooplus are the topmost online stores for 2013.
Last year, Thomann also won the E-commerce Europe-award. Thus, two German SMEs occupied the top places in the presentation of the “Online Business Awards”, which will be presented by the E-Commerce-Center (ECC Handel) in partnership with Hermes to the Handelsverband Deutschland (HDE) and the Management Forum der Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt.
“A glance at the list of winners’ shows that even SMEs are successful in doing business online, and that one can win over new clients with different assortments on the Internet” said Stephan Tromp, the deputy chief executive of HDE.
More than 10,000 online shoppers rated their online shopping experience in customer satisfaction study “Success factors in e-commerce – Germany’s topmost online stores” conducted by ECC Handel in collaboration with Hermes. They voted their favourites among Germany’s top 100 online stores in eleven different categories. Points were awarded to the criteria “Website design”, “Cost-effectiveness”, “Range of products”, “Payment options”, “Shipping and Delivery” and “User friendliness” and “Service”.
The presentation of Online-Business-Awards marked the festive highlight of the 9th Annual Congress “Online Handel 2013”, which was jointly organized by the Handelsverband Deutschland (German Trade Federation) and Management Forum der Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt.
