We are delighted to present our program highlights of the 6th Global E-commerce Summit, which will take place at Hotel Arts in Barcelona on June 16 – 18, 2014. This year’s program will focus on different kinds of topics, including global retail, logistics, omnichannel retail, mobile retailing, social commerce, and much more. Thanks to insightful  case studies from our international keynote speakers, the program is inspiring and innovative.

Tesco’s success story, the world of innovation
Nick Lansley, who joined Tesco’s IT department in 1987, is known as one of the founding fathers of Tesco.com – now the biggest UK-based online retailer. In his presentation he will point out why Tesco.com is so successful where other supermarkets are struggling to survive.

Tomorrow’s Shopping – Get Intimate to Win
Far from killing shops, Ibrahim Ibrahim, Managing Director and owner of Portland will assert that the internet will liberate them. In his presentation he will explore the convergence of digital and physical experiences that will define the new notion of the shop.

Online grocery, what’s happening?
Malcolm Pinkerton, Research Director e-commerce at Planet Retail, will discuss the growth and opportunities of selling food online. Hereby he focuses on topics as ‘why people do and do not shop online’, ‘influencing spending decisions online’ and ‘how tablets are used for shopping’.

Shaping the online culture – or how to build ecommerce companies in Africa
In this presentation, Jeremy Hodara, CEO Rocket Internet Africa & France, will discuss the key factors of building ecommerce ventures in Africa, the logistic set up, cross boarded business models as well as the future of online ventures in Africa.

Omnichannel is key
Valeria is the E-commerce & Omnichannel Director at fashion retail brand Adolfo Dominguez, a publicly traded company founded in 1976 with 700 boutiques in 35 countries. In her presentation she will reveal the ins & outs of new omnichannel projects which integrate every boutique with the central warehouse.
