CESL: consumers and merchants will pay the price

Today, the European Parliament has passed the Common European Sales Law. Ecommerce Europe, EU’s leading online merchants association, respects the outcome of the vote, but reiterates its concerns with regard to the increased compliance costs, administrative burden and legal uncertainty that CESL will provoke.

Ecommerce Europe, hand in hand with the consumers, therefore hopes that the Council will halt this to happen to work on solutions that can truly contribute to consumers’ trust nor to further growth of cross-border sales”, an ambition we warmly share with the EU”.
