Unemployment decreased in the United States over the last few years. Whereas it stood at 9.6% in 2010, it gradually declined to 7.6% in 2013. In total, the American labor force comprised 155.4 million persons in 2013. For 2014, unemployment is expected to have continued to fall, to 7.0%.
This is all revealed by the latest report on B2C e-commerce in Northern America by Ecommerce Europe and the Ecommerce Foundation, an independent non-profit organization, initiated by national e-commerce associations and online and omnichannel selling companies from industries such as retail, travel & finance. Figures in the Ecommerce Foundation’s reports are based on the Global Online Measurement Standard for B2C E-commerce (GOMSEC). The Ecommerce Foundation will also publish an overall Global Report and comprehensive Regional Reports on B2C E-commerce in Latin America, MENA, Asia-Pacific and BRICS. All the reports are powered by GfK, GlobalCollect, Informatica, RichRelevance and Salesupply.
